Waste Management

Ceres Associates begins the design of every recycling and waste management program with a waste stream audit. The studies detail the amount of waste produced and provide a breakdown of the types of waste. With this information, Ceres Associates waste management experts make specific recommendations on how to reduce or eliminate the total waste volume.

A Waste Management Plan is designed to detail which wastes can be recovered or reused, and how to recycle the remainder. The plan outlines ways of more effective handling of the waste to reduce delivery costs and suggested equipment upgrades. Any company and any municipality can become 90 percent waste free with the appropriate expertise and will to do so.

Ceres Associates designs waste recovery and recycling systems using the latest emerging technology. Systems are designed and engineered in great detail to capture the greatest benefit from the recycling program. Ceres guides clients through the countless vendors that supply the equipment necessary to provide companies and municipalities with a truly sustainable environment.

Waste to Energy

The most effective use of the waste stream is to turn waste into energy. There are several technologies available to destroy the waste and use the energy provided by the destruction process to generate electricity. Waste to energy (WTE) technology has been available for many years, but has been too expensive to implement when compared to the price of land filling in the United States. Today, however, efficiency is increasing and costs are declining. Ceres Associates is currently installing its first state of the art WTE facility in the United States with plans to install facilities in several different countries. These facilities will provide the ultimate in Agreen energy@, offering a cheap source of electricity while reducing the impact of municipal solid waste on the environment.
